Tenant Occupied Housing
Heart of the City’s aim is to ensure affordable housing to the Lower West Side community, revitalize neglected homes, and restore this once vibrant and historic neighborhood. In order to reach this goal, HOCN also employs rehabilitation projects designed for tenant-occupied units.

COMING SOON! Hudson Street’s Cynthia Gardens Rental Unit
The Hudson Street Revitalization Initiative employs a strategy of development of vacant lot infill housing. The two townhouse-style buildings are designed to reflect the neighborhood’s historic character. The design calls for four 2-bedroom apartments and four 3-bedroom apartments; a direct response to the lack of quality housing for families in the neighborhood. The energy efficient units, known as Cynthia Gardens, will come complete with energy-efficient appliances and heat-saving windows.
